Partnership and Innovative Financing to Mainstream Biodiversity and Land Management in wet Climatic Zone in Sri Lanka

As the operational focal point for the Global Environmental Facility for Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Environment has submitted project proposal on “Partnerships and Innovative Financing to Mainstream Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Management in the Wet Zones” project on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka.

The primary focus of this project is identifying and conserving the remaining high conservation value forests in tea and rubber plantations. 

This project approved by the Global Environment Facility under its cycle 7 funds for under the theme biodiversity with  USD 4,005,251 grant and to be implemented in 2023-2027.
