Biodiversity Sri Lanka (BSL) est une plateforme nationale entièrement détenue et dirigée par le secteur privé, créée pour promouvoir un engagement fort du secteur des entreprises en faveur de la biodiversité et de la conservation de l'environnement au Sri Lanka.
La BSL encourage activement le leadership du secteur privé dans les domaines de la biodiversité et de la conservation de l'environnement, en fournissant un soutien technique, en partageant des informations, des connaissances et des expériences, en promouvant les meilleures pratiques grâce à des mécanismes d'apprentissage et de compréhension actifs et en initiant et en facilitant le dialogue entre l'État et les partenaires de la société civile et le secteur privé, en préconisant des politiques respectueuses de la biodiversité et des instruments positifs qui militent pour la conservation de l'environnement fragile du Sri Lanka.
Le mandat général de BSL est de contribuer à sensibiliser la communauté des affaires sri-lankaise aux questions de biodiversité et de durabilité. En s'efforçant d'aider les entreprises à comprendre la biodiversité et les problèmes connexes, ainsi qu'à les intégrer dans leurs activités principales, BSL a pour objectif ultime de garantir qu'une majorité des entreprises sri-lankaises adopteront à terme une base écologique durable avec des impacts négatifs considérablement réduits sur notre biodiversité.
